Exploring Wolfenden's impact on LGBT+ lives

Wolfenden60 - Exploring Wolfenden's Legacy

Wolfenden60 marks the 60th anniversary of the Wolfenden Report; a report commissioned and ultimately responsible for paving the equality and social rights of LGBT+ people in Great Britain.

Wolfenden60 sets to explore the report, unearthing the undocumented history and legacy created by Lord John Wolfenden and his committee. Between February 2017 and March 2018, a team of 2 armed with the skills of 28 volunteers set to work researching, collating and producing a series of resources for use in the classroom.

Funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, we've created a classroom pack containing a series of engaging activities, an LGBT+ history trainer package, and a documentary containing the highlights of the research completed by our volunteers.

These resources arm teachers with the resources they need to inspire, educate and engage students in the social struggles and injustice of LGBT+ people over the past 60 years.

Wolfenden60 is a project lead by Support U, an LGBT+ support charity covering the Thames Valley, the largest in the South East of England.
